Panel to probe charges against Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, former Vice-Chancellor

Following orders by Haryana Lokayukta, the Director (Higher Education) has constituted a three-member committee to inquire into the allegations of multifarious irregularities levelled against Prof BK Punia, a former Vice-Chancellor, and Jitender K Bhardwaj, a former Registrar of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. Dr Sandeep Kumar Gupta of Hisar had lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta maintaining that the former Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and a Joint Director (Audit) had abused their positions to give undue favours to certain functionaries and faculty members of the university, which resulted in huge financial losses to the public exchequer.
