Paddy truck seized by Flying Squad of Food and Civil Supplies Dept: Ashu

The flying squads of the Food and Civil Supplies Department today seized a truck of Parmal paddy being brought from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab illegally for recycling/fake billing.

Giving information in this regard, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Punjab said that this truck has been seized at Shambhu border of Patiala district, in which 254.50 kg of Parmal paddy in the name of a fake firm named Dasmesh Agro Foods Ludhiana was being brought.

Ashu said that when this firm was inquired from the Secretary, Market Committee, Ludhiana, he denied that any firm of the said name was registered in the district.

Taking legal action in this regard, truck number MP 07 HB. 4072 was confiscated and a form was registered against the driver Harmeet Pal.

Ashu informed that at present 150 flying squads have been formed in Punjab in which about 1500 officers and employees are working round the clock.

The Food Minister said that so far 7 pamphlets have been registered by these squads and these flying squads will continue their action at least till 31st December 2021.
