Oxygen to be provided to health institutions on priority basis: Aditya Uppal

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aditya Uppal today visited the Civil Surgeon’s Office to discuss the current status of the growing cases of COVID-19 in the district, uninterrupted supply of medical oxygen and corona epidemic in public and private hospitals reviewed arrangements. On this occasion Hon’ble Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurdeep Singh Kapoor, District Health Officer Dr. Kuldeep Rai, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Harpreet Singh, District Epidemiologist Dr. Jagdeep, Senior Medical Officer Kavita Bhatia, Dr. Mandeep Kamal along with representatives of various private hospitals and other senior officials of the health department were present.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner  Aditya Uppal had in-depth discussions with the top officials of the Health Department including Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurdeep Singh Kapoor and officials and representatives of all government and private health institutions on the supply and demand system of medical oxygen and supply system. Urged to adopt a solid system to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medical oxygen. He also asked all the health institutions to provide information to the district administration regarding the daily demand and supply of medical oxygen.
He said that the district has adequate supply of medical oxygen and to deal with COVID-19, all the health institutions would be provided oxygen supply on priority basis. He also said that black market of oxygen would not be allowed in the district and if anyone was found involved in such activities then legal action would be taken against him.
He also asked the representatives of the health institutes to reserve at least 75 percent beds for Covid-19 patients in all the hospitals in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19. He said that there should be no shortage of beds for Covid-19 patients in hospitals.
