Rudraprayag, May 17
After the opening of Kedarnath Dham kapat, Rudrabhishek Puja was performed by the first Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The eleventh Jyotirlinga Kedarnath Lord’s doors were opened in Aries Lagna, Punavasu Nakshatra at 6.10 am after worship with rituals. On this occasion, the temple is decorated with 10 quintal flowers. This is the first time when the ‘abhiskek’ and ‘arati’ have been conducted in the absence of devotees as the Lord Shiva shrine opened as per schedule even amid the Covid-19 lockdown following the coronavirus outbreak. No one was allowed to visit the temple. The doors of Lord Kedarnath have been opened for the next six months with full legislation at 5 am on Monday. Now the worship of God will be done here for the coming six months. On the occasion of the opening of the kapat due to Corona infection, only Rawal, chief priest, administration of Kedarnath Dham, and some members of the Devasthanam Board were present.
At present, the government has banned the worship of devotees in the temple. Only the chief priests will perform the daily pujas. The same first puja was performed in the temple in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At 5 am in the morning, the doors of Lord Kedarnath have been opened for the summer with the rituals of mythological traditions. Kedar Baba’s Utsav left for the festival of Doli Dham on May 14 after resting at the Panchgaddistal Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath for six months of winter. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has extended warm wishes to the devotees and administration of the shrine. He prayed for everyone’s good health and happiness.” With the blessings of Baba Kedar, we will surely be able to defeat corona. This time devotees could not visit the shrine but Lord Kedar’s blessings are with us,” he said.
