As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of agriculture laws this morning, politics has once again heated up in Punjab and across the country. Especially in Punjab, the BJP leaders have got some support.

This is because the BJP leaders in Punjab were not able to leave their homes as the farmers did not allow them to hold any function. Now at least the BJP leaders of Punjab will be able to come out of the house and if they are asked any question they will be able to answer that the new agriculture laws are being repealed.

All this must affect the Punjab Congress and the Akali Dal as well. Capt. Amarinder Singh is a great leader in Punjab politics. They have a good base in villages as well as in cities. Of course, now he has left the Congress.

In Punjab, on the other hand, the Akali Dal, the BJP and Capt. Amarinder Singh need each other. This is because the Akali Dal is considered the Panthic party of the Sikhs but the Akalis do not have a big Hindu face for the Hindu vote bank. At the same time, the BJP has a good grip on the urban and especially the Hindu vote bank. But the BJP has no base in the Sikhs and especially in the rural areas. Now, if these three come together, it can become a strong arena of politics. If the Akali Dal and the BJP merge, the Captains can be part of this alliance.

It may be mentioned here that when the new agriculture laws were enacted, due to the opposition of the farmers, first Harsimrat Badal was forced to resign from the post of Minister in the Union Government then Sukhbir Badal broke the 24 year alliance with BJP.
