In the meeting of review committee of the Punjab government on Thursday regarding COVID-19, it was decided that at present, the state would not impose any strict restrictions in the state. It was also decided in the meeting, held at Punjab Bhawan here, that Oxygen carrying vehicles will get security.
Disclosing this here today, Health Minister Balbir Sidhu said that no strict measures would be taken in the state. He said that there are strong arrangements in the state to tackle the second wave of COVID-19.
Around 56,000 tests were done in the last 24 hours in Punjab. These numbers can be increased up to 60,000, said the health minister.
He also added that coordination was being made with the Central Government to provide a one-week advance stock of COVID vaccine to Punjab. He said that the supply of medical oxygen was being affected by some of the states due to which the vehicles supplying oxygen would be provided security.
