Negligence not tolerated in school bus case: Tej Partap Singh Phoolka

Strict action has been directed against schools that do not comply with traffic rules and other standards. Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Barnala Tej Partap Singh Phoolka said that today the case of the school bus of YS School Handiaya came to light after which he directed Secretary RTA Karanbir Singh Chhina to reach the spot and take necessary action. He said that no negligence would be tolerated by the drivers or other staff of the bus or the school administrators. The schools in the district have been severely reprimanded in this regard. Meanwhile, on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, Secretary RTA Karanbir Singh Chhina reached the spot. He said that after issuing the challan of the school bus, the bus station has been closed and the driver has been handed over to the police for further legal action. He said that on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner a special checking operation of school and college buses has been carried out on Barnala-Sangrur road, during which the bus of Mata Gujri School Dhanola was also challaned for not meeting the required standards. He said that this checking campaign would continue in the days to come. He said that school administrators have also been reprimanded for not doing any such negligence. Strict action will be taken against the schools which do so. District Child Protection Officer Abhishek Singla also reached the spot on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner said that in view of child safety, the concerned staff has been directed to keep the school administrators constantly alert and bring to their immediate notice in case of any shortcomings.
