Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal said that district administration had set up a 24X7 complaint monitoring cell where complaints of the people received through various communication means regarding Model Code of Conduct violation were being timely settled.
Sarangal said that administration had so far received 36 complaints through C-Vigil app developed by Election Commission of India (ECI) to report about violation of MCC. He said that six complaints were found baseless and remaining 30 were settled within timeline of 100 minutes fixed by Election Commission.
He said that on Cvigil app, Flying Squad team was assigned the complaint within five minutes of receiving following which team had to reach there within 15-minutes. Within 30 minutes, the complaint was investigated and the same was forwarded to Returning Officer of the constituency for further action. The Returning Officer had to take action on the complaint within the next 50 minutes. He said that in this way the grievance was resolved in just 100 minutes.
He said that the app was available on Google Play Store and with the app, citizens could upload photographs and videos about any type of violations of Model Code from the spot with location based details. The moment they uploaded any picture or video, action was being initiated immediately by flying squads and Returning Officers later.
Sarangal also informed that three out of four complaints received on 1950 were settled by the administration. Similarly, Deputy Commissioner said that 13 out of 14 complaints received from the office Chief Electoral Officer were settled.
He told that the district administration had been strictly enforcing the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) to ensure free, fair, transparent and peaceful polls during the assembly elections.
