Mohali police nab 3 for looting Rs 1 crore at gunpoint

Mohali police arrested three members of a gang, that was involved in a loot of Rs 1 crore at gunpoint here in Derabassi on June 10. Mohali SSP Vivek Sheel Soni said that the police team led by DSP Gurbakhshish Singh and DSP Kuljinder Singh had discovered that total five persons were involved in this crime. The cops have nabbed three while two are absconding. The arrested accused have been identified as Ranjodh Singh (33), a resident of Ferozepur, Maninderjeet Singh (25), a resident of Amritsar and Saurav Sharma (22), a resident of Gohana in Haryana. The police have recovered Rs 68 lakh looted money and a Honda City car from the possession of the arrested accused. SSP Soni said, “Ranjodh and Maninderjeet were masterminds in this crime and Ranjodh had relations with the complainant Harjeet Nagpal, a property dealer in Derabassi. They have no criminal background. The two absconders will be nabbed soon.” It is to be noted that on June 10, the accused had looted Rs 1 crore at gunpoint from Harjeet Nagpal. They had also injured him in this whole act. A case under Sections 307, 397, 120-B of the IPC and 25 of the Arms Act was registered in this regard at the Derabassi police station.
