“The re-opening of schools, coaching institutions and certain Higher Educational Institutions mandates due observance of COVID19 safety protocols,” said Deputy Commissioner, Girish Dayalan.
Making an appeal to all academic institutions in the district that intend re-opening in a graded manner, to get their teaching/ non-teaching staff tested for covid19, Deputy Commissioner said that they ought to adhere to the SOP issued by the State government. He clarified that as per government guidelines, on-line/distance learning may continue to be the preferred mode of teaching and should be encouraged. However, if school students (of only classes 9th to 12th), research scholars or certain post-graduation students attend schools/institutions then in the larger interest of all, COVID 19 test should be taken and district administration will extend all support and arrange special testing camps for the staff of educational institutions.
They are subject to the condition that in closed spaces, a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity is allowed with the ceiling of 200 persons. In open spaces, it should be keeping the size of the ground/space in view, with the prior permission of the concerned SDM of the Sub Division, District S.A.S. Nagar.” Adhering to safety protocols, provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash or sanitizer shall be mandatory.
