Mohali daylight theft: Unknown persons steal 3.1 lakh from Sohana’s shop

In a daylight theft, some unidentified miscreants today stole Rs 3.1 lakh from an electrical appliances shop in Sohana village here. As per the police, the theft took place in broad daylight at around 2.30 pm. The owner of the shop, Jai Kumar Goyal stated in his complaint that he was not present at his shop when the theft took place as he had gone to a hospital with his father after locking the gate of his shop. When he returned back, he found the lock of his shop’s gate open and the cash placed in his bag (Rs 3 lakh) and on counter (Rs 10,000) was missing. The lock of the door was broken by the thieves. It was also said that the miscreants took less than five minutes to execute the theft. ASI Satnam Singh, the investigation officer of Sohana police station, said, “We have registered an FIR under Sections 380 and 454 of the IPC. We had checked the footage of a CCTV camera installed near the crime spot but no clear clue was found. The investigation is on and the suspects will be nabbed soon.”
