Mohali Civil Surgeon visits Mubarakpur Camp, gives necessary instructions

Civil Surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur visited the affected area of Mubarkpur Camp near Derabassi and gave necessary instructions to the health officials after reviewing the overall situation on Sunday. She informed that after some cases of fever and vomiting came to the fore in the village, the health department immediately swung into action and conducted a survey in the village first on suspicion of COVID infection and then on suspicion of dengue fever. Apart from this a fever survey has also been conducted. She said several water samples have also been taken from the water supply lines in the affected area and a report will be available very soon. She added that the water supply line in the affected area had already been cut off. Dr. Adarshpal Kaur also visited the Health and Wellness Center at Mubarakpur and reviewed the work of the staff as well as inquired about the survey.

The Civil Surgeon appealed to the people of the village to drink boiled or filtered water and reach the nearest health center as soon as they show signs of fever or other related illness. She said that such diseases are often caused due to contamination of drinking water. Therefore, everyone should drink filtered or boiled water, especially in the rainy season. She said that under the guidance of the senior medical officer of Derabassi Dr. Sangita Jain, health teams are constantly monitoring the overall situation and keeping a close watch on the sick.

She asked the health officials that no stone should be left unturned in providing quality health facilities to the people of the area. She said that the health department was making all out efforts to ensure that other people are not affected by the disease and the patients are cured as soon as possible. She appealed to the people to contact the helpline number 104 of the health department for any health related information or disease. SMO Dr. Sangeeta Jain, Dr. Sandeep Singla, Dr Preet Mohan were also present.
