In order to facilitate self employment opportunities in the district, SAS Nagar Administration is going to organise ‘Self Employment Melas’ under Ghar Ghar Rozgar Scheme of the Punjab Government. In this regard Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) cum Chief Executive Officer, District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, Mr Rajiv Gupta conducted a meeting with officials to organise melas in December at block levels.
He said that the candidates interested in availing loans in the self-employment-cum-loan Melas can take loans under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna, Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme, standup India scheme and those of Dairy Development, Animal Husbandry, Bankfinco and S.C. Corporation.
These fairs would have participation from Government / Private Banks and Departments related to Self Employment in District SAS Nagar. The age limit of the aspirants should be between 18 years to 65 years. Candidates would be able to apply for the loan by filling up their form on the spot at the fair. The objective of these Melas is to make the youth self reliant and to disseminate information about the self employment schemes being run by the government.
