Moga : Benefit of maximum subsidy given for promotion of fisheries business

The Punjab Government is encouraging the farmers and those engaged in agri-business to diversify their agriculture and earn more income through allied occupations. To this end, ancillary occupations like Fisheries are also being promoted.
Disclosing this here today Assistant Project Officer Fisheries Mr. Sukhwinder Singh said that under this scheme maximum capital unit cost has been fixed at Rs. 7 lakhs per hectare and maximum input unit cost has been fixed at Rs. 40 per cent unit cost for general category beneficiaries and 60 per cent unit cost for SC / ST / women and their government agencies.
He said that fish farming was a lucrative business to diversify the agriculture. The profession is free from natural calamities like unseasonal rains, hailstorms etc. A fish crop is a crop that can be sold at any time to earn money. The maximum unit cost for small bioflok project is Rs 7.5 lakh and the maximum unit cost for motorcycle with ice box is Rs 0.75 lakh, for which 40 per cent on unit cost for general category beneficiaries and Rs. .C / ST. 60 per cent subsidy will be provided on unit cost for women and their cooperatives.
He said that as per the availability of funds sanctioned for the financial year 2020-21, the cases of the beneficiaries would be considered on a first come first served basis.
