MLA Angad Singh today left for Chandigarh from Nawanshahr with his colleagues to visit Lakhimpur Khiri in Uttar Pradesh for the rights of farmers, from where he left for Uttar Pradesh along with Cabinet Ministers and other MLAs led by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
Meanwhile, he held discussions with Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to ensure justice to the farmers. He said that a huge convoy of vehicles led by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had reached there to bring justice to the farmers. Strongly condemning the brutal incident at Lakhimpur Khiri, MLA Angad Singh said that it was a great disgrace on the forehead of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh to attack the innocent farmers who were peacefully protesting against the black farming laws under a conspiracy. He said that instead of such heinous acts to silence the voice of the people, democratic values should be respected. Expressing solidarity with the families of the victims of Lakhimpur Khiri, he said that such actions would not allow the nefarious intentions to demoralize the farmers to succeed.
