Mig-29 aircraft crashes near Jalandhar, pilot ejects safely

Chandigarh, May 8

An Indian Air Force Mig-29 fighter jet crashed in Chuharpur village near Jalandhar on Friday.

As per the reports, the fighter jet was on a training mission and it met with a technical snag. It burst into flames as soon as it crashed in the fields. The pilot managed to eject safely before the accident. After that, he was rescued by a helicopter.

A statement issued by Indian Air Force reportedly said, “On May 8, at 10:45 am, one Mig-29 aircraft airborne on a training mission from an Air Force base near Jalandhar met with an accident. The aircraft had developed a technical snag and the pilot ejected safely as he was unable to control the aircraft. The pilot has been rescued by a helicopter.”
