Meeting for election of Mohali Mayor postponed to April 12, earlier it was April 8

Election of Mohali Mayor has been postponed again. The election will be held on the 12th instead of the 8th. The election of the Mayor of Mohali Municipal Corporation will have to wait for 4 more days. The mayoral election on April 8 has been postponed by the Punjab government due to a gazetted holiday on April 8. Now this election will be held on April 12 at 10 am at Municipal Bhawan Sector 68 Mohali. It may be recalled that the Punjab Government has announced a gazetted holiday on April 8 on the occasion of Guru Nabha Das birthday. It may be recalled that on April 5, Divisional Commissioner Ropar had asked for a meeting of councilors on April 8. In a letter written by Divisional Commissioner Ropar Rahul Tewari to Commissioner Municipal SAS Nagar, Mohali, a meeting of all the councilors was to be convened on April 8 at 3 pm at Municipal Bhawan Sector 68 Mohali. It was also informed that first all the elected councilors would be sworn in and after that, the Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor, and Deputy Mayor of Mohali would be elected. The Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Mohali has also specially directed for videography of this election. He said that this videography was being carried out so that there would be no disturbance and the election would be held in a transparent manner.
