Martyrs of Saragarhi commemorated with Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib

An event was organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib to commemorate the martyrs of the Saragarhi battle.

After the bhog (culmination) of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, raagi group of Bhai Harpinder Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib connected the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan.

Sharing Gurmat views with the Sangat on the occasion, Giani Jagtar Singh Ludhiana, additional head granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib paid homage to the martyrs of Saragarhi.

Recalling the 21 brave Sikhs who fought against 10,000 Pathan tribesman, he said that there is a long list of martyrs in the Sikh community from which the present generation should take inspiration and connect to the faith’s history. He said that every year a function is organized by the SGPC at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib to pay homage to these martyrs.

On this occasion, family members of the martyrs were also present who were honoured with the Guru blessings Siropao (robes of honour).

On this occasion the manager Baghel Singh, Bhai Ranjit Singh, Granthi of Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib Bhai Gagandeep Singh, Jathedar Ranyodh Singh, among the family members of the martyrs Ranjit Singh, Taranpreet Singh and the Sangat were present.
