Mansa Health Department collects 300 samples in a day for covid testing

Mansa, June 7

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has launched Mission Fateh in view of tackling Covid 19. Giving information about the coronavirus testing of Mansa, the civil surgeon Dr. Lal Chand Thakral said that daily sampling of administrative officers, health workers, Asha staff, ANMs, cleaners, and all the frontline warriors was being done.

The Civil Surgeon said that now as per the directions of the Punjab Government, local laboratory technicians, pharmacy officers, community health officers, and staff nurses would be provided RTPCR to further enhance the sampling capacity. Training on the collection and packing of samples is being imparted. He said that now tests have been started at Community Health Centers as well as Primary Health Centers.

Further, he said that under this series, on Saturday, PHC RTPCR at Nangal Kalan (Covid-19) coronavirus samples were collected. About 300 people’s samples, including shopkeepers and vegetable sellers, were collected in one day and these were sent for coronavirus testing. The village panchayat and Khalsa Rural Nursing College also extended their full support during the sampling.

The civil surgeon urged the people to wear masks when going out of the house, maintain physical distancing with one another, and wash hands frequently with soap.

He also appealed to the people to report any person living in your street from outside the state to the Health Control Room No. 104 or District Control Room 01652-229082.
