Mansa : Ban on carrying licensed firearms in marriage palaces

Mr. Mohinder Pal, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner, exercising his powers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, has imposed a complete ban on the carrying of licensed firearms in the marriage palaces of the district. The district magistrate said that at weddings, some people carry their licensed firearms in the majestic palaces and snatch weapons from each other after drinking alcohol at the ceremonies and set fire to the bhangra on the stage which is aimed at the people present in the palace. Many people have lost their lives in such incidents. It is to be mentioned that marriage boards are written in the marriage palaces but no action is taken on these boards. This order will remain in force till November 30, 2020.
