The Special Task Force (STF) arrested three accused and seized a total of 28 kg heroin and six kg of ice from their possession. Police have recovered the scooter besides the Endeavor and Ciaz car from the possession of the accused. Police arrested one accused Sahnewal and the other two from Phagwara on his spot. At the same time, five accused are absconding, whom the police are looking for.
Police have registered a case against Manjit Singh alias Manna (30), a resident of Bhagwan Nagar, Moti Nagar Jodhewal, Vishal alias Vishu, a resident of Mohalla Dogra in Batala, Gurdaspur, and Englishman Singh, a focal point resident of Patiala Rajpura. Apart from this, police are searching for Batala residents Rajan Sharma, Happy Randhawa, Harminder Singh, Australia resident Sunny and Tanveer Bedi.
STF IG RK Jaiswal said that a case was registered on 29 October in the STF police station, in which the accused Manjit Singh alias Manna was arrested. Manna was going to his Endeavor car near Sahnewal. On the information, the police overpowered the accused, 18 kg of heroin and 6 kg of ice hidden in the vehicle were recovered.
When the police planted a trap near Phagwara, Ciaz recovered ten kg of heroin from the vehicle and arrested the two. The Ciaz vehicle was of Ludhiana number. During interrogation, it was found that the accused are in contact with the absconding accused of Batala. All work by forming gangs on a large scale. One of these accused is said to be from Australia. At the same time, IG said that it is not fully known whether Sunny is in Australia or India. There are also times that the accused deliberately lie to protect the partner.
