Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal stated on Monday that the district administration is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and hassle-free procurement of paddy in the upcoming season, set to begin from October 1, in order to facilitate the farmers.
Jorwal, who reviewed the procurement arrangements of paddy in the district, mentioned that every single grain of paddy will be procured, and directions have been issued to procure the grains as soon as the farmers arrive at the grain markets. He added that the administration has made extensive arrangements to ensure that the farmers do not face any problems while selling their produce.
Jorwal also highlighted that all the Sub Divisional Magistrates and chiefs of all procurement agencies have been asked to personally supervise the paddy procurement operations from October 1.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the district administration is expected to procure around 18 lakh MT paddy from grain markets in this procurement season. He also appealed to the farmers to refrain from burning paddy straw, which causes major environmental hazards. He also assured fulsome support to the commission agents in resolving their issues.
