Reports of 30 more samples sent from Fazilka district late last night have been received. In addition, according to the latest information, 2 more cases came positive. This information was given by the Deputy Commissioner of the district Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu.
He appealed to the people of the district not to panic and continue to strictly abide by the curfew so that the spread of the disease could be prevented. Civil Surgeon Dr. Harchand Singh said that last night 33 samples were reported out of which 30 samples were positive and 3 samples were negative. In addition, 2 more cases have been found positive. He said that all the positive cases were returned from Nanded Sahib. Out of the positive cases, 7 cases were related to Jalalabad, 10 to Fazilka, 14 to Abohar, and 1 to Rajasthan.
A total of 81 pilgrims had returned from Nanded to Fazilka district out of which 73 reports have been received, out of which 36 positive cases have come to light while 8 reports are pending. The positive cases would be kept in isolation. So far a total of 1409 samples have been sent out of which 60 samples have been sent on 5th May. The reports of 645 samples have been received and a total of 764 reports are pending.
