Labour Department registering workers under e-shram scheme

The Haryana Labour Department is registering workers working in the unorganized sectors by organizing camps under the e-shram scheme.

Under this scheme, accident insurance up to Rs. 2 Lakh for a registered worker will be free and in case of permanent amputation, he will be given financial assistance up to Rs. 1 Lakh.

Giving information in this regard today, an official spokesperson said that under the e-shram scheme, workers working in the unorganized sectors, and self-employed workers like construction workers, agricultural labourers, daily wage labourers, carpenters, migrant labourers, MNREGA workers, auto drivers, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers, domestic workers, milk sellers, electricians and street vendors, rickshaw drivers, vegetable vendors, artisans, weavers, plumbers, mid-day meal workers can get themselves registered.

He said that the age of the worker should be between 16 to 59 years. The worker should not be a member of ESIC and EPFO and should not be an income tax payer and he should have the necessary documents like Aadhaar card, bank passbook and mobile number (which is linked with Aadhaar) for registration.
