Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has handed over the report of the investigation team into Bhagtupura land scam in Amritsar to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday evening.
Sharing information in this regard, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Panchayat Department had formed a three-member investigation team on May 20.
The investigation has been completed by this team, the report of which has been submitted to the Chief Minister for further action
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Panchayat of Bhaktupura village of Amritsar had sold its land to Alpha International City.
Dhaliwal shared that when the government was formed, this matter came to their attention that crores of rupees have been charged to the government to sell this land and many other technical errors have been made.
Seeing the seriousness of this matter, he asked to form a three-member committee based on three senior officers of the department to look into this matter impartially. The investigation team has thoroughly investigated the matter and prepared a report which has been handed over to the Chief Minister.
The Rural Development and Panchayat Minister once again reiterated that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is the government of the common people and looting of money or resources of the common people will not be tolerated at all.
He also said that strict action will be taken against whoever has committed any scam or looting of government money. He said that no one will be spared no matter how corrupt or affiliated with any political party.
