KMSC postpones dharna in front of Minister’s houses to January 11

Ferozepur, January 8

The proposed dharna in front of the minister’s houses of January 8 has been postponed to January 11 by Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC), due to uncertain weather conditions.

The farmers are protesting against for not announcing the agreed demands like – waiving off of loan of farmers, withdrawal of cases against farmers by the railways, compensation of damaged crop of Rs.17,000 per acre, ownership of land at a cheaper rate, grant of balance amount for land across the fence and forming of law for rates of 13 crops, etc.

Giving this information, Inderjit Singh Bath, District President, Rana Ranbir Singh, State Core Committee, and District Press Secretary Sukhwant Singh Lohuka said, certain demands of the farmers were agreed by the government on December 27 meeting with the farmers, after a call for rail rook on December 20. But the same has not been announced so far. The committee has now decided to hold the protests in front of the minister’s houses on January 11 due to uncertain weather conditions.
