In a state-level competition held under “Kayakalap Swachh Bharat’ campaign, as many as 14 government health institutions of the district have secured important positions. During the state level award distribution function held at Amritsar today, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Om Prakash Soni gave an award to Civil Surgeon Mohali Dr. Adarshpal Kaur and Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Daljeet Singh Pardesi for this big achievement.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur said that under the Kayakalap program, health institutions are inspected every year on a number of criteria including hygiene, seating arrangements, decoration, staff dress, drinking water, park, medical facilities, overall hospital environment, etc. She said that on these criteria the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Gharun has got first place across the district while other 13 institutions have also performed well. These institutions include Sub-Divisional Hospital Kharar, Community Health Center Banur, Lalru, Dhakoli, Boothgarh and Landran. Besides, Urban Primary Health Center Phase 1, Phase 7, Phase 11 Mohali, Primary Health Center 3B1 Mohali, Chando, Khizrgarh and Isapur have also been selected for the awards. She said that along with the trophy these institutions would also be given prize money ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh which amounts to a total of Rs. 11 lakh. Gharuan Hospital alone would get the highest prize money of Rs. 2 lakhs. These awards have been given for 2019-20.
Lauding the efforts of all the officers, among other staff, the Civil Surgeon said that when the hospitals were being checked last year during the height of Covid pandemic, the entire health staff and officers worked hard to make the hospitals better in all respects along with the Covid duty for which this credit goes to them. She hoped that the officers would work harder and more diligently next time to bring all the institutions of the district to the number one position so that the people could get better health facilities in these institutions.
