In a display of humane policing, Jodhpur police helped a woman as she gave birth to a child in a car. As per the reports, the woman was being taken to the hospital when her stopped due to some issue. Then police constables present at the moment helped the woman.
Divulging details, Preeti Chandra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Rajasthan said, “On May 4, a woman and her husband were going from Barmer to Jodhpur for delivery. But their car broke down at Akhilya Circle, Jodhpur. At that time, the woman went into labour. However, the lady constable present at the spot called local doctor and nurse immediately. But her delivery had to be done at that moment. So, the police constables helped the woman and her delivery was done.”
Both the child and the mother were healthy and were shifted to a nearby hospital after delivery, she said.
