Jalandhar, May 12
A registration camp was organized by the Labour Department at village Foldiwal to register the construction workers working in District Jalandhar with the Punjab Building and other construction labour boards.
Disclosing this here today Project Manager Virinder Singh said, following the directions of Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, as per the directions of Additional Chief Secretary Labour Department, Punjab, camps at construction sites at Jalandhar Heights, AGI Foldiwal for online registration of construction workers.
Labour and Reconciliation Officer, Pardeep Chaudhary and Labour Inspector, Vikrant Saini, who were also present at the camp, said, the construction workers, who are above 18 years of age and under 60 years of age and who have done construction work for 90 days in a year, are eligible for registration in Board. Further said, after fulfilling the conditions of registration, the registered beneficiaries are entitled to avail the benefits of the welfare schemes run by the Board
Pardeep Choudhary said, that along with the application form for registration, Aadhar Card / PAN Card / Passport (with full date of birth), copy of bank account of worker and his family members, live photo, registration fee of Rs.25 and Rs.10 per month contribution (from 1 year to 5 years) is mandatory.
Soliciting the support of social activists for mobilizing the workers to common service centers, Choudhary said, that camps would be set up at various places in Jalandhar district for the registration of construction workers and the nearest service centres could also be visited for the registration of construction workers.
Present among others on this occasion were Technical Assistants, Kunal Chopra, Sahil Malhotra, Nitin, from Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
