Jalandhar: Direct home isolation and walk-in testing facility for suspected covid-19 patients

Further streamlining the Covid-19 treatment in the Jalandhar, the district administration Jalandhar has started walk-in testing and direct home isolation facility with immediate effect. 

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Ghanshyam Thori said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government has decided to provide walk-in testing and direct home isolation facility to the suspected patients. The deputy commissioner said that now the suspected patients can walk-in at any flu corners across the district for testing. The suspected patients have to file an undertaking form that they have adequate arrangements for the home isolation and didn’t have any co-morbidity, and their co-morbidity was under control.

Thori said that if the suspects were found positive, they would have to place themselves under home isolation based on the undertaking filled by them at the time of sampling, and they don’t have to go to hospitals. Meanwhile, the patient tracking teams would be regularly monitoring the health status of the home isolated patients while paying an intermittent visit to them, added the deputy commissioner. He said that if the teams observed a decline in the health status, the patient to be admitted to the government isolation facility for further treatment.  

Thori said that the district administration has set up a total of 22 flu corners in the district that includes eight in urban areas and 14 in rural areas. He said that the suspected patients could walk-in to any of these flu corners for the Covid-19 testing. The deputy commissioner reiterated his commitment that district administration was taking all the measures to check the virus spread, and no stone would be left unturned to provide the best of the healthcare facilities to the people in these trying times.
