Jalandhar administration identifies 45 black spots to reduce accidents

Jalandhar, January 13: To reduce road fatalities by improving road safety, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the district administration has identified 45 black spots in an extensive road safety exercise and directed the officials to remove these spots at the earliest for saving precious lives.

He said that in rural police jurisdiction, Pepsi Factor Phillaur, Goraya Filling Station, Bus Stop Goraya, Opposite Mansurpur Gate, Opposite Lidhran Flyover, Bidhipur, Verka Chowk, Kishangarh Chowk, Adampur Chowk, and Chitti Road turn have been marked as black spots. Similarly, the Deputy Commissioner stated that 14 black spots have been identified on NH roads.

Thori also asked the officials to shift the stray cattle from the roads to Kaniya Kalan Gaushala as this menace has also serious cause of road mishaps. Prominent among present occasion included SDMs Dr Vineet Kumar Sharma, Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, MC joint Commissioner Shayari Malhotra and others.
