Jail inmates-run fuel station to operate 24×7 in Kurukshetra

The fuel station being run by the district jail inmates at Peepli-Kurukshetra University road will now function for 24 hours. As of now, the fuel station was being operated between 7 am to 7 pm. The new night shift will be operated by volunteer jail wardens. The fuel station was the first in the state to be operated by jail inmates. It was inaugurated on May 31 by Haryana Power and Jail Minister Ranjit Chautala. The average sales of the station has been around Rs 6 lakh per day. After 24-hour service resumes, the Prison Department expects daily sales to touch Rs 10 lakh.
