Chhastisgarh forest department officials saw something today that they did not witness in the last seven years. They sighting a rare black panther at Achanakmar Tiger Reserve in Bilaspur district. The Deputy Director of the reserve quoted that they saw the black panther for the first time after the last 7 years.
However they could not disclose the location due to security reasons. Before this, a black panther was sighted in Chhatisgarh’s Gariyaband district at the Udanti-Sitanani Tiger Reserve. Other than this, the state has got some habitats of black panthers and the list includes Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary, Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, Sharavathi Wildlife Sanctuary, and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary.
The black panther was seen multiple times between March 25 to April 25 and was captured by the cameras installed in the reserve.
