Hoshiarpur: Police arrest three carjackers within 15-minutes of crime

Cracking the car robbery by three unidentified persons outside a fuel station at Chandigarh road, Garhshankar within 15-minutes of the crime, the local police have arrested the accused and seized illegal revolver, live cartridges’, toy pistol and snatched car.

The accused have been identified as Palwinder Singh of Patto Heera village, Moga, Ravinder Singh of village Kathu Nangal, Amritsar and Ashwani Kumar of Hassan Bagh, Nagpur.

Disclosing further details, SSP Navjot Singh Mahal said on May 21 Ror Majara resident Sajan complained to a police party headed by Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar at Anandpur Sahib Chowk that three unknown criminals have robbed his swift car (PB08-CV-0094) outside a petrol pump at Chandigarh road.

He said following the complaint, the police team under the supervision of ASP Garhshankar Tushar Gupta promptly alerted the Samnudara Police Post head Parminder Kaur who along with team laid the trap by blocking main road with trucks and apprehended the accused.  He said that cops seized .38 bore illegal revolver, two live cartridges, toy pistol and snatched car.

SSP added a case under sections 379-B of IPC and 25, 54 and 59 of Arms Act has been registered against them.
