CJM-cum- Secretary District Legal Services Authority Sucheta Ashish Dev heard the problems of hawkers through video conferencing and settled them on the spot in the Central Jail Hoshiarpur during the covid-19 epidemic.
She said that as per the instructions of District and Sessions Judge Amarjot Bhatti, she is listening to the problems of hawkers in the Central Jail every week and their solutions are being resolved. She said that efforts have also been made to reduce the mental tension, trouble, unrest that was arising due to the closure of the meeting with his family. She informed that 632 hawkers and prisoners have been released on RG bail or parole for six weeks since March 2020, as per the High Power Committee of the High Court during this epidemic.
The meeting of this committee is held every week, in which cases of hawkers are considered, who are qualified to take bail as well as the District and Sessions Judge visits the Central Jail Hoshiarpur every 15 days so that covid-19 precautions can be taken as well as meeting with the hawkers and prisoners can be done.
