Hoshiarpur, October 22
A heartbreaking case has come to light in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab. The half-burnt body of a six-year-old girl of a migrant worker was recovered from a village mansion under Tanda police station late on Wednesday evening. When people saw the body of the girl in the mansion, they immediately informed the police. The girl’s father told the police that the grandson of a man from his village had taken his daughter under the pretext of feeding her biscuits at noon.
After that she did not return. The father said that it is feared that after raping the girl, an attempt has been made to kill her and burn her body. Bikram Singh, SHO inspector of Tanda police station, said that a case of murder would be registered on the father’s statement. Further action will be taken after the postmortem report is received.
