Disclosing this today, District and Sessions Judge Tarsem Mangla said that in order to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, the functioning of the courts had been suspended following the directions of the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court Chandigarh. However, District Courts, Fazilka have taken a new initiative and started hearing urgent cases through video conferencing.
District and Sessions Judge Tarsem Mangla said that 41 urgent cases were heard through video conferencing and 22 cases were disposed of on the spot. The District and Sessions Judge said that now advocates can pursue their case through video conferencing from the comfort of their home, thus eliminating the need for lawyers and clients to appear in the courts.
Civil Judge Senior Division cum ACJM Fazilka Ashish Saldi further said that today neither lawyers nor any client entered the court complex to pursue these cases and Tarsem Mangla District and Sessions Judge quoted that the copies of the orders issued were also made available to the lawyers electronically.
