Haryana govt adds other categories too in relaxation time between 1st and 2nd dose of Covishield: Anil Vij

Haryana Government has extended to categories who have to travel abroad for urgent reasons like availing treatment for any health problem, foreign nationals who have to return to their country and in any circumstances in which foreign travel may be unavoidable and mandatory 84 days period after the first dose of vaccination for COVISHIELD- has not elapsed.

While stating this here today, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that the government has issued a letter to all Civil Surgeons of the state for relaxation of time between 1st and 2nd dose of COVISHIELD for additional categories.

In the previous instructions issued regarding the provision of 2nd dose of COVISHEILD with relaxed time between 1st and 2nd dose (less than 84 days) to the citizens who have to travel abroad for education, employment or official purpose and participation in Olympics, he said that in such cases, the concerned individual may be asked to produce a copy of the travel documents such as visa or confirmed tickets, along with any such other documents that may justify the urgency for undertaking the travel. Feature for providing on-site 2nd dose vaccination to such beneficiaries at government COVID vaccination centers already exist in the COWIN portal, he added.

Vij said that this facility is to be extended to all Government COVID Vaccination Centers (CVSs) for the convenience of the citizens.
