Haryana Government has capped the rates of HRCT Chest and other Lab investigations such as IL-6, D-Dimer, LDH, CRP, Procalcitonin and Ferritin, required for diagnosis or treatment of COVID-19 and Post-COVID patients.
Sharing more details regarding the same, an official spokesperson said that as per the orders, the rate of CT/ HRCT scan of the chest are fixed at Rs. 2100.
However, for IL-6, D-Dimer, LDH, CRP, Procalcitonin, Ferritin, an amount of Rs. 1000, Rs. 400, Rs. 250, Rs. 350, Rs. 1500 and Rs. 300 respectively would be charged.
The spokesman said that these rates are inclusive of all the expenses involved in testing that is PPE, packing, documentation, reporting and GST Taxes (if any). However, in the case of the home collection, an extra amount of Rs. 200 per home visit, irrespective of several samples collected, is allowed to cover the expenses incurred for transportation, PPE kit and manpower etc.
These rates do not apply to the CT Scan centres providing services to Health Department under PPP mode, for which the existing rates would prevail, said the spokesperson.
Non-adherence to these orders may invoke penalty under section 188 of the IPC, he added.
The spokesperson said that the decision of capping the rates has been taken after various observations of uneven and exorbitant rates being charged by various private hospitals, diagnostic centres and Labs have been received via media and other modes.
Therefore, after due consideration on the matter of the cost of reagents and consumables, the State Government exercising the powers bestowed under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, capped the maximum charges to be levied for the above-mentioned tests.
The spokesperson said that Haryana Government has been taking various measures to combat COVID-19 Pandemic and is providing free testing and treatment in Government Hospitals across the State, added the spokesman.
