Great start to the first mega job fair 1521 youth selected for jobs on the first day

In the series of mega employment fairs being organized by the Punjab government from September 9 to 17 with the objective of providing employment to the youth, the first job fair got off to a great start at Government Senior Secondary School Boys, Kapurthala as 1521 applicants have been Selected for the job by various reputed companies.

The large number of youths participated in the fair despite heavy rain. The district administration had also arranged buses to bring the youth from far flung areas across the district.

On the first day of the job fair at Kapurthala where 1263 applicants came in person and interviewed for the job, 716 children participated in the interview virtually.

Amongst the companies that have selected the youth are Tech Mahindra, ITC. , J.C.T., Amazon Pay, NIIT, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Insind Bank, Secured Meters Ltd., A1G, Topaz, SBI Life, Vardhman Textile, Checkmate, Agile, Kotek Mahindra, Reliance Nipun, S.D. Cotex, Rextap, Compact Synergy, Diamond World, HDFC Bank, Jagdamba Industries.

Earlier Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal, Mayor Kulwant Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mr. SP Angra, Chairman Improvement Trust Mr. Manoj Bhasin, Block Congress President Mr. Amarjit Singh Saidowal interacted with the applicants during job fair.

Deputy Commissioner while interacting with the applicants invited them to avail maximum benefits of the fairs. She said that candidates would be selected for 14,000 vacancies during the job fairs from September 9 to 17.

Neelam Mahe, Head, District Employment Bureau said that the fair would continue on September 10 at Kapurthala. This was followed on September 14 by S.D. College Sultanpur Lodhi, Ramgarhia College Phagwara on September 16 and 17 and Guru Nanak Prem Karamsar College Nadala on September 17.
