She said that dengue is born in clean standing water and it is caused by the biting of a mosquito which bites only during day time. Symptoms of dengue include high fever, headache, muscle aches, skin rashes, pain in the back of the eyes, and bleeding gums and nose. If a person develops such symptoms, they should contact the government health institution immediately. Talking in detail about this, SMO Dr. Walia said that to prevent dengue, the standing water in coolers, pots and fridge trays should be changed once a week to dry them and cover the whole body.
Mosquito repellent coils, electrical appliances, mosquito nets, mosquito repellent creams, etc. should be used while sleeping at night to prevent the spread of dengue.
