Gold worth Rs. 90 lakh recovered from Amritsar airport

The Customs Department has seized 1.848 kg gold from two passengers traveling on IndiGo Airlines flight from Dubai-Amritsar to Amritsar Airport. The price of gold is said to be Rs 90 lakh. The names of the passengers are Pravesh Joshi resident of Fatehgarh Sahib and Narinder Kumar Joshi resident of Mandi (Himachal). Both are said to be relatives. The customs department was informed that two passengers of IndiGo Airlines flight from Dubai-Amritsar to Amritsar airport were involved in gold smuggling. When the passengers of the flight were searched, no gold was found from any of the passengers. The custom then searched for the ship, the seats on which the above two were sitting. Beneath it was hidden gold in an envelope. The customs department has taken them into custody and started questioning them.
