Ferozepur Police returns 121 stolen phones after tracking down rightful owners

Ferozepur, June 11

A total of 121 stolen mobile phones have been recovered and returned to the rightful owners, said Charanjit Singh Sohal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur.

G.S.Sangha, SP(D), and Gurmeet Singh Brar, DSP were also present on this occasion.

While handing over 121 mobile phones to the owners here on Saturday, SSP said, 121 stolen mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees, which include simple and costly phones like iPhones, had been returned to the owners today, thanks to the work done by the Cyber Crime Wing.

The police teams had been working seriously on the issue, put their hand on the recovery of 121 mobiles and returned to their owners who the police have tracked down based on loss, theft and snatching complaints filed by them, by verifying the documents related to the ownership of the mobile.

He said, under the community policing by working 24×7 hours, it is not the cost of the mobile but with the recovery of stolen mobiles and returning the same to the owners, public-policy relations have strengthened. Moreover, the appreciation from the public on such occasions works as oxygen for the police personnel.

We are always ready to protect the life and property of the public. If any public man wants to share any information about an anti-social activity going on in the district, the police headquarters may be informed in person or on phone, to take immediate action in the matter, added SSP.

SSP urged the public not to store their private photos, and passwords on their mobile phones and not to transact online business with unknown persons as they could be misused by the criminals.
