Ferozepur, July 31

Overwhelming with number of pending applications, the Ferozepur police disposed of 921 applications within a week’s time. On joining, SSP has launched this special campaign to dispose of the pending applications of the public, on priority.

As per information, there are many factors behind the backlog of cases in the police stations. In view of the increase in crime, the police stations face a staff crunch. While many pending cases also turn out to be frauds, involving court stays etc. but it is a good initiative by the police to dispose of pending cases which will improve the efficiency. The investigating officers are unable to do their job properly with their existing burden of other regular duties. We are focusing not just on registering the crimes but also disposing the cases. While bringing relief to the people, the existing arrangement will boost the police efficiency. At the same time, fewer cases at hand will ensure more efficient and focussed investigations.

Surendra Lamba, said, a relief camp – Help Desk dedicated to the public is being run, at the respective police stations, to quickly dispose of the pending applications from the public to provide justice within the appropriate time. The disputes were settled amicably over the Help Desk, during the relief camp, by calling both the parties. A total of 475 applications were disposed of from July 25 to 29 and 446 on July 30 were disposed of making the total disposal figure to 921. More application will be settled during the coming days in these relief camps.

He said, apart from this, the persons present in the relief camp were informed that the police is always committed to help them. Therefore, a true report should always be given to the police so that justice can be given to every person.

Similarly, the persons present were encouraged to stay away from drugs and to cooperate and inform the police about drug dealers. If any person wants to share any information about a bad element, then that person can contact in person or on telephone, added SSP.
