Civil Surgeon Fatehgarh Sahib, Dr. NK Agarwal said that out of the total 56 positive patients of coronavirus in the district, 16 patients have now returned to their homes after recovering from the disease, while 40 patients are still undergoing treatment. Out of 2,481 samples taken, 2,256 samples were reported negative. He said that it was a great relief to the district that for the last few days, the reports of samples being taken from various places across the district were negative.
Dr. Aggarwal said precautions like maintaining social distance at work stations, frequent hand washing with soap and clean water, wearing face masks in public places should be done prevent the disease.
Further, Dr. Aggarwal said that now as per the notification issued by the Director Health Services, Punjab, a cotton cloth mask or triple layer mask is mandatory for every person in public places, streets, hospitals, offices, markets or while traveling in a vehicle. It is important to wear a mask that can be washed thoroughly with soap and reused. If the mask is not available then handkerchiefs, scarves, quilts can also be used.
