Mr. Ginderjit Singh Sekhon Chairman Market Committee Faridkot inspected the main Dana Mandi Faridkot.
At this time the Chairman personally met the Aratis and the farmers and inquired about their problems. The Aratis and the farmers said that the paddy season was going very well. Regarding lifting of paddy, he said that from 76000 bales to 100000 lakh bales are being lifted every day. Farmers are also getting payment continuously. Labor union presidents Praveen Kumar and Chhinda Singh said that the paddy season was going well.
He said that due to the efforts of the Chairman, every facility was being provided by the Market Committee, Faridkot. During this season the lights have been well arranged by installing Highmaster Power with LED lights. Sanitation and drinking water supply is also being provided continuously. Disclosing this here today Chairman Ginderjit Singh Sekhon said that till date FCI procured 258 tonnes of paddy, Pungrain 18187 tonnes, Markfed 21337 tonnes, PUNSUP 11360 tonnes, Warehouse 1323 tonnes and private 1060 tonnes. The total procurement has been 53525 tonnes. As per last year, 50 per cent paddy has been procured in the mandis.
