Teachers and students of government schools are enthusiastic about the preparation of the National Achievement Survey to be conducted by the Union Government on the state of school education in the states and Union Territories.
District Education Officer Secondary Sarabjit Singh Toor and District Education Officer Elementary Kulwinder Singh Sarai said that in order to make the state a leader in the National Achievement Survey to be held on November 12 this year under the guidance of Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla and Education Secretary Kirshan Kumar. The department has launched a special preparatory drive.
Under that campaign projectors, LCDs and other modern digital equipments have been provided for the basic facilities of government schools in the district as well as for teaching. With the use of these equipments by the teachers, while the curriculum is being taught, the National Achievement Survey is also being prepared. Students are also being informed about the use of OMR sheet to be provided during the survey examination. Students are enthusiastically participating in the online tests related to the survey examination provided by the head office. Education officials said that hard work was being done by the heads, teachers and students of the government schools to maintain the first position of Punjab in the recently released Performance Grading Index in the National Achievement Survey.
Deputy District Education Officer Secondary Harkanwaljit Kaur and Deputy District Education Officer Elementary Vasundhara Kapila said that besides making the students aware of the techniques of survey test, training workshops of school principals and teachers are also being conducted to provide information about every aspect of survey test.
Harish Bansal Principal District Mentor Science, Amaninder Singh District Mentor English and Social Studies and Kamaldeep District Mentor Mathematics said that all the district and block mentors of Read Punjab teams were in constant touch with the school principals, teachers and students.
