District Magistrate Barnala Tej Partap Singh Phoolka has declared a dry day in District Barnala on 14th February 2021 and 17th February 2021 using the powers vested in him under Section 54 of Punjab Excise Act 1914 in view of General Election of Municipal Council.
Under these orders, any liquor contracts (local and English) within the limits of District Barnala, hotels, shops, restaurants, clubs, beer bars, premises where it is legally permitted to sell and drink liquor or to sell liquor in other public places. , Use, drinking / drinking and storage are strictly prohibited.
The orders said that the general elections for Municipal Councils / Nagar Panchayats have been fixed by the State Election Commissioner, Punjab on February 14. Therefore, both the day of polling and the day of counting of votes (February 17) have been declared dry days in view of maintaining law and order.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Barnala S. Tej Partap Singh Phoolka has also issued orders prohibiting the district’s ammunition license holders from carrying their weapons. As per these orders, the District Magistrate said that as per the program announced by the Election Commission, Punjab State, Chandigarh, the Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections in Punjab State are scheduled to be held on February 14, 2021. In view of the ban on carrying firearms for law and order situation, these orders will remain in force till February 21.
