Drug smuggler arrested in Chandigarh, 16 gm heroin recovered

During the night curfew, a youth who was going to supply heroin was arrested by the Sector 39 police station in the area. The accused has been identified as Suraj alias Golu, 22, a resident of Daddumajra. Sector 39 police station has registered a case against the accused under the section of NDPS Act and is engaged in interrogation. During the night curfew, a team of Sector-39 police station was patrolling in the area. Meanwhile, on getting information about the smuggler youth, the police started checking the entry and exit by deploying them on the border area of ​​Chandigarh, Punjab. During this, a young man who was coming on foot started running backwards after seeing the police personnel. Policemen posted on the spot nabbed the suspected youth near Jiri Mandi. The youth tried to throw the polythene packet on the roadside even before the policemen reached near. The policemen nabbed him and recovered the packet during the search. 16 grams of heroin was recovered in the polythene packet recovered from the youth. After this the police arrested him under section of the NDPS Act.
