Dengue and malaria prevention activities launched by the Health Department

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sri Muktsar Sahib, Dr. M.K. Arvind Kumar and Hari Narain Singh Civil Surgeon Sri Muktsar Sahib, Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Nodal Officer CHC under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Program has begun activities in various villages under Block Chakk Sherewala to prevent the spread of Dengue.

Health department employees are raising awareness about dengue and malaria through pamphlets and posters. On this occasion, Gurcharan Singh Block Educator and SI Paramjit Singh informed that every Friday is observed as Dry Day by the Health Department, which includes water tanks at public places, coolers in the houses, and other water-collecting sources. This is evacuated so that dengue larvae do not enter.

Black oil and gambusia fish are also being released into village ponds to prevent the spread of malaria larvae. In this regard, health education is being imparted by paramedical staff in all the health institutes under the block, PHC, sub-centers to prevent dengue and malaria.
